Garden City Center Internship Program

We offer a 12 month Internship Program to students who are current students in a masters program in counseling or therapy and have completed their first year of coursework. Interns will offer direct clinical services to Garden City clients.

internship requirements

  1. Each intern will work with staff to determine a schedule and client load. A minimum of 5 client hours per week is requested.

  2. Weekly consultation meeting with staff

  3. Monthly Staff Meetings

  4. The intern is responsible for ensuring that all of their school requirements are met (Intern is responsible for these, not Garden City).

  5. Unfortunately, staff is unable to provide licensed supervision; therefore, the intern is responsible for obtaining and completing supervision requirements mandated by law and by their school.

Qualified Interns are those who:

  1. Understand Christian context with regards to theology, doctrine, Church community, interpersonal relationships among Christians, intrapersonal relationship between a person and the Triune God, and family dynamics with regards to faith communities

  2. Respect for diverse Christian faith practices and non-Christian beliefs
