  • Yes, we are currently accepting new clients and would love to know how we can help.

  • We offer appointments during the week and at various times throughout the day. You and your therapist will decide on the best appointment times for you.

  • If you’re new to Garden City Center, we invite you to fill out our brief “Let’s Talk” online form as your first step. You may also contact us directly. We will reply to your email to schedule a Let’s Chat call, the second step.

The Let’s Chat phone call is a free 15 minute introductory call where we discuss basic logistics such as the areas of expertise you are seeking, scheduling, and rates. Once we confirm that all of these pieces seem to line up, we’ll schedule a Consultation Session (the third step) with you. It is in this first therapy session that we’ll go deeper and explore our fit together.

  • This is the first therapy session (scheduled for 45 minutes at each clinician’s rate), and it offers space to work together in the therapeutic environment in order to best assess fit. There is no commitment to agreeing to a continued or long-term therapy relationship. You as the client will decide if you think we are a good fit for one another. If not, after this Consultation Session you can let us know that you won’t be continuing. We as the therapists will also be determining fit, with an emphasis on our areas of expertise. If we do not think we are a good clinical fit for you, we’ll offer some recommendations for other therapists who might be better suited for your needs.

  • Rates vary depending on your therapist. Therapist rates can be found on our services page.

  • We do not participate in health insurance networks. Each client is responsible for paying their fee at the end of each session. At the end of each month, your clinician will provide you a receipt with all of the information you will need for your insurance provider. Call your insurance company directly to learn more about what your policy covers.

  • Once you have filled out our online form and spoken with a clinician, you will receive an email with instructions. We use a confidential, online portal called Simple Practice to help manage documents and streamline your experience. During your first session, your therapist will focus on your goals, understanding your past and present, and outline a plan for therapy. You will also discuss any questions or concerns — the first conversation in an ongoing dialogue throughout our work together.

  • Sessions are either 45 minutes or 90 minutes long.

  • Clients choose how often they would like to have sessions. Some options include weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions.

  • A person’s goals determine the length of therapy treatment. Some clients have specific goals that have shorter timelines and others want to work through deeper issues that will have longer timelines. A “short” timeline would be 3-6 months and a “long” timeline would be 1-2 years, with periodic sessions afterwards (such as a monthly, quarterly, or yearly check-in).

  • Yes. We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Please call or email your therapist prior to 48 hours before your session time. If you are unable to cancel with at least 48 hours notice, you will be responsible for your full session fee.

  • Yes, we offer faith-based counseling. However, Garden City Center is not a Christian ministry — it is a therapy practice that incorporates faith-based elements directed by each client. Our therapists are knowledgeable about the Christian faith and are happy to use spiritual practices in the therapy work. We believe the therapist’s role is to walk alongside individuals in their life and faith journeys. We do not see ourselves as pastors, ministers, or those with spiritual authority. Therefore, we do not dispense advice, counsel, or theological teaching in therapy sessions.

  • Yes. We are happy to have clients of any faith or non-faith affiliation. We work with clients of all faiths as well as individuals who identify as agnostic and atheist. We are respectful of all beliefs and actively work to understand our client’s contexts, values, and goals. This encompasses all elements of a person’s life, including spirituality.

  • If you are a client of ours, your well-being is our priority and we want to ensure that we are caring well for you - in and out of our therapy sessions. Additionally, our work is billed by time. Therefore, we may assign a fee for administrative work that requires significant time from us (greater than 15 minutes). We also have a prorated charge for any phone calls longer than 15 minutes in length. Prior to any phone calls or the initiation of any administrative requests, please consult with your clinician to discuss billing.

  • Garden City Center rents office space from Christ City Church. We are separate entities with our own ideologies and practices, yet we share mutual respect for each other’s mission.

  • Yes, we do. Our therapists have professional expertise and experience working with a diverse range of clients. We take diversity seriously and work to honor, value, empower, and understand each client’s uniqueness.

  • The titles refer to our specific training and licensing. Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Stacey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Trina is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker, and Ly is a a Licensed Professional Counselor.

We all provide the same mental health services, just under different state licensing boards. We all offer professional, responsible therapy governed by state laws and ethical guidelines.

  • We each have our areas of expertise. If there is an area that fits you, please request to work with that clinician (see our bios for specifics). If you are unsure, we're happy to talk more with you to see who might be the best fit.
