STAY Relationship Skills Group:
How to STAY connected during conflict

“I’m frustrated with you.”
“What were you thinking?!”
"I can't believe you said that!”

Their complaint is a knife driven into your heart. It feels like a character assassination.

This leads to you shutting down, leaving, or ending things. Or, it’s internal agony and a shame spiral.

In the 5-week STAY Relationship Skills Group you will:

untangle Your conflict cycle:

  • Map your unique response habits

  • Unearth the thoughts and feelings that drive your internal tumult

  • Break negative cycles from your side of the equation

Master getting grounded:

  • Orchestrate your internal parts to work for you, not against you

  • Use your feelings and thoughts to make wise decisions

  • Learn how to apply the balm of compassion to your heart that is trying so hard to care for you

anchor to your Values & your Worth:

  • Identify your values and create a compass for honoring them

  • Shift from knowing about to believing in your worth

Create a plan:

  • Name three specific actions you can take to disentangle from these disconnects, with steps to achieve them

Optional 6th Session on December 5: discuss a Christian element of staying connected during conflict. During this time we will look at a theology of blessing and worthiness, embracing the idea that you are uniquely created in the image of God.

Format: The group will include a mixture of teaching, exercises and personal reflection, and group discussion. It’s a small group format with a licensed therapist as the guide.

This is a group for individuals who want to work on relationship skills and address relationship dynamics that show up in a multitude of spaces: romantic, friendship, parent/child, work, etc. You will conclude the time together feeling more confident and equipped to STAY connected during conflict in your most important relationships.
